September Is the Q4 Deadline Nobody Puts on the Calendar

By the time the first holiday ad shows up in your feed, the businesses behind the good ones finished planning weeks earlier. If you want November and December to feel calm instead of chaotic, the work happens now. Here's the checklist we run with our own clients.

The Six-Item Checklist

1. Lock the content calendar through New Year's. Map every post, email, and promo window now — you can always swap a post later, but you can't invent a strategy on November 20th.

2. Set your analytics baseline this month. Screenshot your reach, follower growth, and engagement today. When the holiday push ends, you'll know exactly what it earned you instead of guessing.

3. Decide your offers early. One hero offer beats five confusing ones. Pick it, price it, and build every piece of creative around it.

4. Refresh ad creative before costs spike. Ad prices climb every year as the holidays approach. Test your images and copy in October while clicks are cheap, so you scale winners in November — not experiments.

5. Clean your email list. Holiday sends to dead addresses hurt deliverability right when it matters most.

6. Plan the January follow-up now. The customers you win in December are next year's regulars only if someone talks to them in January. Draft that sequence before the rush buries you.
